Hi everyone! The past few weeks have been a very exciting time for Babyquery - our search software that indexes all the great baby and parenting sites we crawl has been working overtime! So much so that we are working on some major performance tweaks to make your search experience on Babyquery just what you want - exact and FAST. In the mean time until our search software and crawlers are ready to be launched back full time, we are showing supplemental search results on every search page in addition to our Hot Baby Tags.

It all started with a baby product search on Google. Having searched for hours and hours on Google, MSN and Yahoo! for the best baby product search sites and sometimes finding what I wanted, and sometimes not, I got frustrated. So what does a frustrated dad of an almost 2 year old do when he can’t find something on the web he wants…well, if you are a dad that’s a pseudo-geek, you create it yourself - thus was born “Babyquery”.

Also, after being the Editor-in-Chief of the Baby Boy Blog for almost 7 months now, I felt that had a pretty good foothold of what’s going on in the kids fashion industry and a pretty good understanding what type of products moms and dads are looking for when it comes to their little guys and gals.

Babyquery is a search engine that contains baby and parenting related web sites, blogs and resources. When we set out to accomplish this site, there were a couple things we wanted to accomplish:

1. Create a great baby recourse that parents could use to find the latest cool and fun baby products
2. Create a simple and easy to use search experience
3. Allow baby boutique shops and websites/blogs to be able to easily submit their site for inclusion in Babyquery
and
4. Provide advertisers or boutique owners with a uniquely positioned way to get to the top of the search results for their keywords

That being said, Babyquery has just come out of beta and the site is now live for the general public. The debut of Babyquery hit all major goals we set out accomplish with the initial site release.
